Even before its official launch today, the highly
anticipated sixth numbered entry in Capcom’s long-standing survival-horror
franchise Resident Evil has already
generated a rather large controversy thanks to its reception from major
reviewers. While publications such as Game Informer gave it a glowing review,
saying that “the game's minor flaws don't hold back the decadent experience
from being an unhinged, flaming rollercoaster ride”, other reviewers, such as
Joystiq, were far more critical, calling the game a “fully-featured, sloppy,
frequently frustrating attempt to do well by everyone.”

Review: Dragon's Dogma
This article first appeared on hookedgamers.com
Mentioning the name ‘Capcom’, the mind of many a gamer would probably conjure images of shooting zombies in a mansion or slicing up demons as a brash, white-haired, sword-for-hire. I doubt many would think of a rich fantasy setting complete with dragons, magic, and a vast open world to explore but that’s exactly what Capcom has delivered with their fantasy epic Dragon’s Dogma. So how does this strangely out of place title fare against big name RPGs such as Skyrim or Kingdoms of Amalur?

Retro Review: Resident Evil 4 HD; The Series-Changing Epic Still Looks Good
By now if you’re a survival/horror fan who hasn’t played Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 you’ve most likely been living under a rock for the past ten years. Hailed as not only one of the most solid Resident Evil games to date but also as one of the greatest survival/horror games of all time, Resident Evil 4 has also served as the inspiration for other up and coming survival/horror titles such as Dead Space and the newer Silent Hill games and even non-horror games like Gears of War and Batman: Arkham Asylum have borrowed concepts first seen in the fourth numbered Resident Evil entry.
