Even before its official launch today, the highly
anticipated sixth numbered entry in Capcom’s long-standing survival-horror
franchise Resident Evil has already
generated a rather large controversy thanks to its reception from major
reviewers. While publications such as Game Informer gave it a glowing review,
saying that “the game's minor flaws don't hold back the decadent experience
from being an unhinged, flaming rollercoaster ride”, other reviewers, such as
Joystiq, were far more critical, calling the game a “fully-featured, sloppy,
frequently frustrating attempt to do well by everyone.”

Super Hero MMO's: Something For Everybody
As an on again-off again player of NCsoft's City of Heroes for
the past three or so years, and as someone who recently managed to
get his PS3 back up and running in order to take Sony's DC
Universe Online for a spin, I have to say I'm pretty happy with
the direction Super Hero MMO's are heading in.

Video Game Review: Dead Island; A Zombie-FilledTale of Trouble in Paradise
Before I begin this review I want to start off saying I am a big zombie-game fan. I’ve played through almost every Resident Evil game out there, spent more hours then I care to admit conquering Left 4 Dead and L4D2 along with friends up at college, and I’ve sunk a healthy amount of my life into taking down the walking dead in Call of Duty's zombie mode so when it was announced that a zombie game featuring a lush tropical setting, customizable weapons, and rpg elements was on the way, naturally I was more then a little excited.

Video Game Review: Deus Ex: Human Revolution; The Future Is In Good Hands
It’s been a long time since Ion Storm’s and Eidos Interactive’s cult rpg/action hit Deus Ex was released in 2000. Praised for its cyberpunk setting, engaging story, and the variety of gameplay options available to players, it made sense that the developers would want to continue the series. However 2003’s sequel Deus Ex: Invisible War, while receiving a fair amount of praise as well, didn’t quite live up to its predecessor’s hype so Eidos decided to go back to the drawing board and take the series in a new direction. After a rather long wait they finally brought gamers Deus Ex: Human Revolution, a prequel to the original Deus Ex and despite the skepticism of fans and critics, a game that lives up to the high bar set by its predecessor.
